The 2026 Bishop’s Burse Was a Hit!

On Saturday October 24th, the Chapter held the 2026 Bishop’s Burse. Dignitaries in attendance included Bishop Spies, our State Deputy Lloyd Reinkensmeier, State Advocate Michael Blackburn, and State Advocate John Lough. We served right around 130 dinners and enjoyed an evening of Mass, food and fellowship. A shout-out of thanks to those Sir Knight who participated in the Fourth Degree honor guard during Mass, and a hearty thanks to St. Mary Mokena council and parish for hosting!

The Chapter was able to donate $10,000 to the Bishop to support his charitable initiatives in the diocese, a $4,000 increase from the prior year’s results. Thanks go to all of the councils who attended and/or donated to support the cause!

Bishop Spies celebrated Mass with us, and delivered spiritual advice. He also received a State Deputy’s Medallion from the State Deputy.

Council 18889 received special recognition from Supreme for achieving 10 Star Council. Our State leadership learned about this prestigious award when it was received in the state office! Congratulations to 18889 for a job well done!

If you were not able to join us this year, please look out for the invitation next October. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures from the evening!
