Special Olympics Region C Golf Tournament

It was a beautiful morning; on 7/21/25, to be at the Special Olympics Illinois- Region C “3-6-9” Golf Tournament, at the Bartlett Hills Golf Club. Two Sir Knights from Blanchette Assembly #3044 and Robert H. Weaver Council #12005 were also at the Bartlett Hills Golf Club. I was assigned to the 6 Hole Golf Tournament; so we were at holes 10 thru 15.

I was paired with 3 Special Golfers (Eddie, William & Keegan), 2 Golf Carts (Luke was the other Golf Cart Driver/Score Keeper) and their parents who liked the idea of a Group Photo and even posed our Special Golfers after the Group Photo.

The young golfers had a great time. I enjoyed driving a Golf Cart and keeping score.

As a Scorekeeper; I was able to check-in, inside the Club house with our Region C Special Olympics Team.

There were quite a few Score Keepers in the Club House.

Including my Wife; proving that Volunteers did not have to have golf-specific knowledge, to help at this event..

We first had Score Keeper Training; by a retired Golf Pro, and then we all headed outside for the “Opening Ceremony”.

There were a lot of Volunteers; Score Keepers, Caddies, etc.

We proved that working together; made this event a memorable and transformative experience for all involved.

Let’s continue to support our own Special Olympics Illinois- Region C.
